As a student, holidays can be quite expensive, so we have put together a list of places to visit in the UK, whether if it’s a weekend away or a day trip.

Lake District


The Lake District is by far the UK’s most popular national park.

Known as a popular holiday destination, for its famous lakes, forests and mountains, makes this is a perfect place to get away and take in the tranquil scenery.

With plenty of activities for you to do, such as water sports, mountain biking, archery and located in Whinlatter Forest there is Go Ape.

Whether you just fancy a walk around to take in the scenery, or want a fun adventurous day out, the Lake District is the perfect place to go.

The city of Brighton is vibrant, colourful & creative.

York; A place of extraordinary cultural and historical wealth.

A medieval city is a must see for history lovers. Overhanging houses to traditional shopfronts makes this one of the most historic streets in the UK.

Bristol

Bristol is as well known for its landmark, Clifton Suspension Bridge as it is for Banksy’s street art.

The great thing about Bristol is that every August they hold The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, attracting over 130 Hot Air Balloons from across the globe, which is completely free!

If you are into your street art this is the place to visit, with murals left behind by the mischievous street artist Banksy.

There are a number of Banksy original pieces located throughout the city, with many of the pieces being controversial, Banksy is well-known for highlighting social issues and difficult subjects.

Blackpool

Blackpool is another seaside resort, known for Blackpool Pleasure Beach; an old-school theme park with vintage wooden roller coasters, and the landmark Blackpool Tower which houses a circus, a glass viewing platform and the Tower Ballroom.
